Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! - Episode 17 - 10 Second Anime

Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! - Episode 17
Druj finds Kyouko working with Jahy at the Craft Pub Maou. The Store Manager invites Jahy to stay over, but Jahy finds few chances to rest.

Restoration Plan No. 17 – “The Great Jahy Can’t Sleep...”

Hmm.

Like a past episode, Druj gets tired of dealing with humans, and she needs to get a dose of abuse from her Jahy-sama. The difference for The Great Jahy this week is that it’s still mining comedy from Druj and Kyouko’s rivalry. The episode, until the mind-blowing events in the epilogue, acts as a repeat. Jahy went shopping at the home goods store again. Jahy tried kicking the Landlady out of her bed again. The episode redeemed itself by using those borrowed plot points by showing us a funny side to the Store Manager.

While Druj didn’t show us any character development, she did level up in a way that matters. She believes she has stepped up to Jahy’s higher rank of sadism! The Great Jahy loves making jokes about Druj’s masochism and Jahy’s reluctance to punish her in the human world. Two elements of Druj’s character combined to save her sanity as she watched Jahy take out her frustrations on the clumsy Kyouko. First, Druj is delusional about Jahy, and she lies to herself to put her leader in the best light. Call it coping with stress or cognitive dissonance. Either way, Druj hallucinated a way out of her sense that Jahy had become kinder to humans. Objectively, we know Jahy regards specific humans with affection, so it might be a stretch to conclude that Jahy extends those feelings to all humanity. Druj is hysterically dramatic in the psychological and comedic sense. Druj grabbed for a lifeline when she saw Jahy smacking Kyouko for making mistakes. She compared it to how Jahy treated underlings in the Dark Realm and at once felt relief.

The second part of Druj’s character relied on her delusional skills to get what she wanted from visiting Jahy. Druj needed a fix of Jahy’s sadism like a drug junkie. After watching so many episodes of The Great Jahy, we already know that Jahy isn’t a sadist. She merely has a violently short temper. In fact, Jahy only learned about Druj’s masochism after she came to the human world. I’ve mentioned before that a true sadist would hold back physical punishment from a genuine masochist. The sadist is the boss of the masochist, so she can’t follow a pain addict’s commands to give her some. This is the next plane of BDSM that Druj thinks Jahy occupies. Druj believes she finally ascended to that higher plane, well above that pretender, Kyouko. Druj is wrong, of course, but that’s the source of her character’s comedic tension.

In the last episode of The Great Jahy, I wrote about my hope that Saurva would have a more prominent role than being a wellspring of humorous fodder. That hope came true in the epilogue! The Magnificent Saurva became the newest Magical Girl. That mysterious being of light, whose outline and horns look remarkably like that of the Demon Lord, chose its new agent for destroying the misfortune-causing crystals. Kyouko stopped doing her job, so the Lord of Light chose the next most helpful person in the vicinity. That Saurva was such a “terrifying demon.”

Finally, I have complaints about the Store Manager putting on a kiddie dress-up show with Jahy’s miniature form. The balance Druj gave us with her “for J” fashion line was not enough! Konbu Wakame graciously supplied us with one more outfit of Jahy-sama in a sporty jacket and white top. The Great Jahy looks good in anything or nothing at all!

Heh.

Druj hates wearing different clothes to match the seasons of the human world. The Great Jahy is so stylish she only needs to wear one outfit! Well... the second outfit of an oversized T-shirt isn’t that fashionable. Now we’re talking! Jahy in different ensembles! Boo. Three different looks are not enough! For sure, Druj is a marketing genius. Spin up a fashion line at the snap of a finger. “For J” is for tan girls showing their slim bellies!

Here we go again. The Great Jahy already showed Druj running low on Jahy torture energy. Except for this time, she competes with another torture fan – Kyouko! Druj can’t deal with watching Jahy smack someone else. Jealous! Wait a minute... Jahy’s sadism is on another level. She’s making the masochist Druj look while she abuses Kyouko. Kinky! That’s like four fetishes put together. Public in-person voyeuristic NTR! Can they show that on TV? Druj’s delusional justification let Jahy get away with her lies for another week. Kyouko can give as good as she gets. Cash only, toots!

Jahy needs new bedding. The Great Jahy takes another crack at showing Jahy overspending at the home goods store. Except, she successfully shopped for a futon. Human beds are scarily comfortable.

Yay! Sleepover episode! Hahaha! The Store Manager just wanted to play dress-up with her new Jahy doll. Oh? Jahy started growing as she collected more mana crystals. That makes sense. Druj can hold her adult form continuously. I wonder how long she can stay in her max-power maid demon form. Ah. This is a long way to call back on the Landlady stealing Jahy’s covers. The Store Manager has the worse sleeping habits of the two sisters.

Epilogue time for The Great Jahy. The Magnificent Saurva, the terrifying demon, helps humans as she plots against Jahy. She’s so evil! Not. Hey! That light spirit has horns, not ears. And it looks like Maou. Aha. It needed to find a new crystal destroyer because Kyouko stopped. Saurva’s military uniform is white now. I bet you we’ll still have jokes about how nobody recognizes Saurva.

Next time, Saurva will not lose! Lose what?
