A flash-forward with sexy Mira mashing her boobs against Reito's back as she pointed out a roomful of naked women set the early tone for the episode. Let's see if that continues when the show begins its postponed broadcast in January.
Elisa said goodbye to Reito before he entered a suspended animation hibernation sleep. He made the herbivore move of confessing his love for her right before he wouldn't see her for years! I hate this guy already.
Reito woke up immediately, according to his perspective, to someone who clearly resembled Elisa. Her name is Mira, and she talks like a robot. The phrase "dead lay" came to mind when she explained that Reito woke up to a ruined world. It's populated almost exclusively by women who can't clean up streets or repair windows. Sexist much?
A specific virus ravaged the world that killed all the men. Only a few men survived, of which Reito was one, so now he needs to help repopulate the planet. Apparently, the women haven't found a cure for the disease in the men's absence.
Mira's leader ordered her to "convince" the herbivore Reito into having his way with multiples of women. The dude wanted to find his family and Elisa first, but this would be narratively problematic. For reasons! He did meet his younger sister, who dresses like a whore now, and his older brother was still in stasis. If Reito won't get busy with Mira because she reminds him of Elisa, then Mira has a long list of candidates for him to choose from.
The end credits appeared to be the opening credits for the series. Mira is one of the "big girls" of World's End Harem. The other fanservice machine will be the blonde Chloe. I hope to see more of you in January!
Geh.
World's End Harem was meant to be the ecchi show of the 2021 fall season, but the producers unceremoniously postponed it the night before its premiere. They claimed they needed to "closely examine its expression." One could interpret that to mean they were not happy with how the censoring devices for regular broadcasts appeared. After the first episode, which they let air as a "preview" on AT-X, I came to an additional conclusion.
The art style varied wildly from scene to scene. Some scenes had thick lines and skin textures and shading that added depth to the characters' visuals. Most did not, which rendered a flat and cheap-looking experience. What's the point of an expensive anime production for a hentai plot if those tiddies don't look better than hentai? Let's see if the retooling works for the re-airing, but I'm not optimistic. Until then, enjoy the NSFW preview of varying quality.
Reito has choices of women to mate with if he stops pining for a missing woman he's never kissed.
Mira tried to "comfort" Reito on his first night in the future dystopia of women who don't know how to fix roads and pour cement. Of course, the useless herbivore of a protagonist refused her.
The new world has many women lying around a futuristic harem facility to get it on with Reito if he ever chooses to. It sure beats sweeping debris and restoring damaged buildings.
