Restoration Plan No. 10 – “The Magical Girl Will Not Lose!”
Hmm.
This week, The Great Jahy explores the Magical Girl’s motivations. Is she a masochistic pervert? Does she feel a sense of accomplishment from promoting justice? Or did these two feelings become pathologically twisted? Even the Magical Girl or her alter ego, Kyouko Jinguu, would have trouble telling the truth. However, she justifies carrying the burden of misfortune from the mana crystals. It’s a way of protecting humanity. She’s certainly tough enough to handle the pratfalls that come from keeping the crystals she found. That misfortune fetish came in the aftermath of destroying the Dark Realm, and it’s an adjustment she’s come to enjoy.
Speaking of adjusting to life after the Dark Realm, the Great Jahy has a crisis of identity. How can she enjoy following the rules of the human world while keeping her self-image of a ruthless demoness? Jahy’s pride is fragile. If she had perfect pride in herself, she wouldn’t care how others see her. She aims toward restoring the dark realm, but the details of getting there are daunting. At times, the tasks feel like drudgery unrelated to the ultimate plan. That’s the reality of the human world. To survive, one must earn money to eat.
The Great Jahy doesn’t make it easy on herself, though. She could ask Druj for all her crystals, but Jahy’s pride won’t let her. She could also steal the crystals the Magical Girl already collected, but her thirst for vengeance won’t let her either. The issue is that Jahy has her priorities screwed up. She should amass power first and delay the gratification of her petty feelings. Then defeating the Magical Girl and restoring the Dark Realm would satisfy those secondary goals along the way. Jahy is just too selfish. That works out fine for the audience because that’s how The Great Jahy makes the comedy sausage.

No! Stay away from Kokoro, Truck-kun! Ooh. The Magical Girl is a genuine hero of justice in The Great Jahy. Look both ways before brushing your teeth because knowing is half the failure! Uh, I think I said that wrong, but you get the idea. Imagine if little kids in anime avoided areas with Truck-kun traffic. We wouldn’t have over half the ridiculous versions of the isekai genre! Uh oh. Kokoro became a fan of a tall, physically imposing magical girl. Jahy won’t like the sound of this. Yeah, Jahy is jealous. She won’t lose her heart (kokoro) to the Magical Girl!
Ha. Jahy is her usual petty self. She’s super strong and beautiful too, you know. Oh, man. She’s soaking up Kokoro’s compliments. It’s the thing Jahy misses the most from the Dark Realm. Nice. The Great Jahy reveals her sexy self to another fan. Jahy can’t get enough of Kokoro’s fangirling! Kokoro is a precious darling. Jahy can’t refuse her requests. Uh, that boulder looks heavy. Jahy used up all her magic too. She won’t be able to work tonight. Losing a night’s salary was worth getting adorable reactions from Kokoro. Oho! Nice callback on Macho Magical Girl! It’s a great punchline for this Magical Girl scene too.
Next up, Jahy is angry with herself for employing a fake cheery attitude during work. She’s in the service and food industry, so false smiles are part of the job description. Ah. Jahy feels that getting along with humans is a sign of weakness. That’s not her issue, though. She feels frustrated that she isn’t closer to her goal of restoring the Dark Realm even though the toil of work is necessary to support herself. It takes up a lot of time, which makes her lose perspective. Yeah, The Great Jahy is halfway over, and Jahy still only has her original mana crystal. The Store Manager thinks that Jahy is beginning to enjoy work. Wrong! It’s a necessary evil to achieve her goals! Jahy likes praise, which she’s getting for doing a superb job as a shift manager. Managing one employee. Herself. But she’d rather receive recognition for being a dark, tall, and sexy demoness wielding her power over lesser beings. Baby steps, Jahy-sama, baby steps.
The Great Jahy gets back to the Magical Girl. Jahy is stalking her. Is it to steal back her crystal? I welcome this development. Jahy hasn’t had much luck searching for crystals in parks, so why not go where she knows where they are? She could also just ask Druj for hers if Jahy could give up her pride. Man. The Magical Girl suffers a lot of inconvenient misfortune. They’re more annoying than anything else, but not enough to seriously injure her. Jahy loves watching this. Har. Jahy has a Craft Pub Maou umbrella. Ironic. A heavy sign with 幸か不幸か (koukafukouka, luckily or unluckily) fell on the Magical Girl. Ah. She has a name! Kyouko Jinguu. She’s a tough one.
Now’s the time for Jahy to get her revenge! With a flowerpot. That won’t work. Remember all the stuff that dropped on Kyouko’s head when she stole Jahy’s crystal rock? Oh! The Magical Girl was awake! Panic time. Kyouko still doesn’t know that the little girl is her archenemy, the Great Jahy. I wonder if she ever considered Jahy worthy of attention.
Aha. The Magical Girl isn’t just a masochist. That kink flipped its switch when she realized feeling pain and humiliation was confirmation. She was shouldering some other human’s misfortune by collecting the mana crystals. Now her sense of justice feels kinky too. Jahy still thinks she’s a perverted masochist. And the Magical Girl is off to save the day! She is the superhero of The Great Jahy. That gets off on humiliation play. Now, can Jahy survive escaping an all-girl school before a ravenous horde plays dress-up with her? Barely!
