Miyuki's Mahouka gave us proper opening credits without the constant text scrawl. It makes clear we'll get through the inter-high games and see the high school girls in their competitive gear and their magical girl outfits. From their perspective, of course.
Honoka remembered Miyuki from Magic High School's entrance exams. She was nervous when meeting the top scorer and quickly established herself as the clumsy girl of this slice-of-life cute-girls-do-cute-things version of Mahouka.
Miyuki's Mahouka starts over from the beginning, so that means we need to watch the crappy Blooms vs. Weeds stuff again. The Shiba siblings squashed that stuff in the first half of the original series. We see it from the girls' perspectives this time around.
The best part of Miyuki's Mahouka is how we see what's inside the girls' minds as they swoon from Tatsuya's general awesomeness. Honoka is obviously the Best Girl in the trio of best friends. Miyuki worries about Mayumi's flirtation, but we know she should worry about Honoka stealing Tatsuya from her.
The end credits let us know that the most important scene from the original series was when Tatsuya scans Miyuki's magical parameters. She needs to wear her skimpy underwear during the process, and the end credits and the first episode remind us of that constantly.
