Beatrice made a small smile when Subaru asked if she could defeat the Great Rabbit. She said she had a good handicap in not having fought in four hundred years and had a first-time spirit contractor. The pair gathered all the little bunnies in one place, isolated them, made them start eating each other, and then Beatrice stuck them in a hidden dimension. That was easy! Roswaal couldn't believe it.
Beatrice and Roswaal visited Echidna's grave and Beatrice learned that Roswaal had been transferring his soul to each successive Mather heir, so she realized she had never been separated from one of her friends from four hundred years ago. Strangely, when Emilia saw the person in the sarcophagus, she didn't recognize her as the Witch Echidna in her visions. Perhaps Roswaal is closer to his dream of reunited with the love of his long life in the flesh and blood. Details to come later, I'm sure. Speaking of flesh and blood, Subaru discovered that Puck never taught Emilia about reproductive biology. Good luck with your girlfriend, Subaru!
The denizens of the Mather mansion, nearby village, and Sanctuary converged to exact slight revenge on Roswaal, like Beatrice did with her shoe, so they could be "even" after he apologized and pledged to be on Emilia's side forever.
Getting over a rough time needs a party afterwards, so Emilia officially made Subaru her Knight for the queen selection games. It was a great excuse to see Garfiel have trouble with a bowtie.
Emilia still had worries about the tougher times to come, but before any of that stuff happens, like getting Rem and her memories back, it was time to dance badly and laugh loudly. Emilia finally put herself into the top tier of Best Girl for Re: Zero, as people are literally crying "Rem who?" during this whole arc. Let's hope it's not another four years before the next season comes again.
