Toukai Teiou's first race of the season displayed to all how hard she worked after her injury and she means it when she wants to be an undefeated horse girl. Dai Yuusaku, who delivered a rare defeat to Mejiro McQueen, thought that meant she could win against Toukai Teiou. She was wrong. Teiou was so strong, she even held back.
Other horse girls and their friends wanted them to do well in their next races. Twin Turbo wanted to help Matikane Tannhauser beat Mihono Bourbon. Meanwhile, Trainer gave Teiou and McQueen different training regimens to beat each other in their upcoming race. Teiou needed more endurance while McQueen needed a stronger sprint kick.

The horse girls of Team Spica invited Teiou and McQueen for an outing on their day off. They refused because they needed to keep training during the final week before the big race at Tennoushou. While this was going on, Mihono Bourbon and Matikane Tannhauser were about to start their own race, where Mihono Bourbon was the heavy favorite.
Gold Ship offered to help Mejiro McQueen with her leaping drills. Unfortunately, Special Week kept distracting McQueen with snacks so she landed painfully on Gold Ship. They watched Mihono Bourbon win easily during breaks.
They hype train picked a favorite for the Tennoushou and it was Teiou on the strength of her last victory. One picture particularly irked defending champion McQueen because it pasted Teiou's face on her body from her previous year's victory.
