The preparations for the School Idol Festival were complete. Now, the school idol club just needed to put on a good show for their fans. They were ready.
Each of the venues and stages reflected the personalities of the solo idols. Ai even had a food stall because she was singing at a festival, after all.
The other idols had similar events at their venues. Kanata had sleeping couches. Rina had a gaming arcade where you could challenge her in a fighting game. Karin let you have your own photo shoot, which let Emma do the signature Love Live photobomb.
Emma wanted to sing with all the children who came to the School Idol Festival. Kasumi, Shizuka, and Setsuna put on a hero show where Setsuna's passion, with the help of a mysterious heroine, defeated an enemy of singing one's heart out.
Yuu did what she always does by helping everyone where she could. Her friends in the school idol club wanted to do something special for her too, but rain threatened to cancel all the remaining acts. The rain stopped when the festival was supposed to be over, but we all know rainbows shine when the rain stops. The vice president of the student council (where was that President Nana anyway?) approved to let the show go long for one more song. It was going to be a good one.
The special message from the Nijigasaki's School Idol Club to a special fan was one of great thanks and appreciation. We all knew they meant Yuu, but an idol's special talent is to make it seem like she sings only for you. In this case, it was true on both counts.
The first School Idol Festival was so successful it might been the first ANNUAL School Idol Festival. It's going to be difficult to top the experience of the first one, but I'm sure the school idol club will do their best to try.
And that's the end of this very different generation of Love Live! I was happy to see them perform together in one song. The show wasn't as well animated as the previous versions, with flat shading and dull colors, but I hope that changes in a second season that isn't beset by the logistical considerations of the worldwide pandemic in 2020. I want to see more of Rina-Board make her fun emoji faces.
