Tour Tidbit du Jour - Rest Day - 9/14/2020

Grand Colombier © CC Bugey Sud/Laurent Madelon

The Grand Colombier climb has been on the Tour de France route four times previously, but it has never been an uphill finish until 2020 as the finish line of Stage 15. It is also one of only four HC (above category) climbs not in the Alps or Pyrenees. The Grand Colombier belongs to the Jura Mountain Range. The other three tough non-alpine or non-Pyrenean are the Puy-de-Dôme, Mont du Chat, and the Col de la Biche's other side. The path on Stage 15 up the Col de la Biche is "only" a Category 1.
