Skadi still conducts the city council's business while Glenn keeps trying to convince her to go through with her surgery. I'd like to know more about that flower monster girl and the dual-wielding pistils she has.
After Sapphee noticed some misplaced things at the clinic, she organized a monster girls' night out with Arahnia and Tisalia. They talked of sake and how they were going to use it for Skadi's surgery. Then Arahnia staked her claims on Sapphee and Tisalia as fated friends forever. Must be nice that she can make her own red thread.
The monster girls' night out was all a ruse to get Arahnia to open up about her feelings for Glenn. When that didn't work, Sapphee and Tisalia staged an intervention so Arahnia could stop herself from stealing and moving things around to assuage her compulsive behavior. She was most surprised when she learned she had fallen in love with Glenn because she had never felt that before. Sapphee and Tisalia needed to accept another member in their "best waifu" club.
Finally, it was time for Glenn's final push to get Skadi's consent to remove her tumor. Skadi felt she had fulfilled her duty in ending the monster-human war by founding a city fostered on peace between the two sides. Glenn successfully argued that there was nothing wrong in enjoying her own creation. This gave her hope and permission to act like a little girl again. A very old little girl who doesn't like being bored by her immortality. Glenn may have added to his monster girl woes.
The surgery itself was straightforward, but it showed why Cthulhy had so many concerns. Skadi is still a fire drake, which meant her scales and her organs produce and protect herself from her fire ability. Cutting Skadi open at the center of her cardiopulmonary systems meant they would need to guard against extreme heat and the danger of explosion. Cthulhy sacrificed many tentacle tips to help Glenn make the concluding excisions.
Successful surgery! The townsfolk rejoice! Illy is scared of big eyes, confusing Memé. It looks like Glenn will have to take over Cthulhy's medical duties, but we'll have to find out in the season finale next week whether that's temporarily or permanently.
