Eleonore explained to Anos how an elite class of humans kept hatred of demons alive through two thousand years of history, almost from the very beginning of the Hero Kanon and Demon King of Tyranny Anos's peace pact.
Lay revealed his true reborn identity as the Hero Kanon instead of Anos's most trusted demon lieutenant and that he is the fake Demon King of Tyranny Avos. We'll have to wait until next episode about why he hates humans so much, which is probably related to his being betrayed and killed almost immediately after peace broke out by his own second-in-command.
