Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! - Episode 7 - Sakurai Uzaki Toast

Uzaki turned 20 years old, the legal drinking age in Japan, so it was time to toast to her birthday and first drink.

The way Sakurai called Uzaki suddenly out of the blue, and how nervous and serious he sounded, made Uzaki get her hopes up for something more. Unfortunately, the big problem was Sakurai didn't have the guts to enter a cat café by himself. Going to the movies by himself, no problem, petting cats, big problem. Uzaki was understandably annoyed.

Sakurai enjoyed himself. Perhaps too much. He let his legs fall asleep because one of the cats was in his lap. He couldn't concentrate on what Uzaki told him about what to do to thank her on her upcoming birthday.

Uzaki's teasing switch got locked in sadism position when she saw Sakurai suffering pins and needles. The café staff preferred the "couple" keep their "bondage play" at home and kicked them out. Uzaki wondered if cheating on her cats at home at the cat café was how married men felt going to a cabaret. Not really, Uzaki.

The Asais eat up the delicious meal of Sakurai worrying about what to get Uzaki for her birthday. He worried Uzaki would reject each of his gifts, but the Asais have more realistic expectations of how Uzaki thinks.

Uzaki pulled the same misleading phone call trick Sakurai did with her. This time, Uzaki didn't want to go inside a pub by herself to celebrate her rite of passage of buying alcohol legally. Sakurai appears to be well-versed on how to drink in pubs, which is at odds with his supposed loner status. Uzaki started with a chuu-hai and then moved onto beer. Good for her.

Uzaki played around with the digital menu, making JoJo and Fist of the North Star references along the way. The waitress didn't appreciate the AH TATATATA barrage of drink orders coming her way. She stopped short of calling them a couple, though, unlike the cat café lady.

Uzaki found her favorite drink, yuzu liquor. Let's see if it's still her favorite in the morning, because that wobbly walking and drunk talk sounds like a hangover about to happen.

The legal drinking birthday rite of passage continued with buying hooch at the liquor store along with junk food and staying up way too late. Uzaki tried some more teasing with a sleeping Sakurai, but then they both passed out.

In the morning, Uzaki suffered the consequences of her binge drinking. She properly thanked Sakurai for the evening, but then she ruined the moment by ruining his futon. She needs to figure out how she's going to pay him back for the night and the morning after.
