#4 - "Tampering"
Hmm.
Mikoto the Railgun is the most interesting when she's off on her own being super spy. She can cling to buildings, hack electronic devices, and infiltrate any structure. That's stuff's all cool, but the interesting thing is that she thinks putting on a baseball cap conceals her identity! Everyone has a blind spot and this little bit of naivety is endearing. The other fun about Railgun this week is the confirmation that Saten's side project on the Shadow Metal urban legend is the conspiracy tying all the operations targeting Mikoto and that Misaki is involved with that old man. The conspiracy is important enough that Mikoto has been isolated from her best friends, but she's still going to need help. I see Kongou getting her chance to shine, Spiky-kun's misfortune engaging, and even that Gunha guy showing his guts when Mikoto reluctantly relies on them. I can't wait to see those cute moments.
Heh.
Fussy Kuroko is the best Kuroko. There will be no passionate kissy face when the sports festival is over.Saten is really hyped to find this Shadow Metal stuff. Funny how Saten has a smart phone, but Uiharu still uses a flip phone. Ooh, conspiracy stuff. Uiharu can't find the site Saten saw about Shadow Metal, but there's a lot of dummy search results causing noise. Hoh. A mysterious organization targets people looking for this Shadow Metal — and here they are! Spring into action, Mikoto and Kuroko! Uh oh. Kuroko recognizes who these hazmat guys are, but Mikoto doesn't know what they do.
Apologize! It's the cleanup crew! After all those psychic kids use their powers, who knows what they leave behind, so naturally a hazmat crew would take care of the grounds. They also need to keep people from collecting psychic DNA. They're probably the reason no one has casually found any Shadow Metal, and the origin of the conspiracy theory. Saten and Mikoto settle in for a long lecture from Kuroko.
Uiharu continued with her search algorithm, but that old man registered her visit. That website has a Latin phrase "auribus oculi fideliores sunt," which means "ears and eyes are more trustworthy." Shadow metal has a very precious orange color… noted. Ah! But then something weird happened to Uiharu! That was a gloved hand opening that door, but then Saten and the others came in. Uiharu's memories have totally been wiped, along with her search result. That was totally Misaki's work.
Academy City goes all out during this sports festival. Laser light shows, parades, and fireworks among all the skyscrapers. Mikoto loves her froggy mascot Gekota! Aw. All the girls' parents are here visiting too.
Oh? Misaki's fans haven't seen her? And Mikoto's SISTER never returned Wannai's gym clothes? Shenanigans! Mikoto, Super Spy is on it! She's got the baseball cap on, so you know it's serious business. Misaka Mama will sleep in while dreaming of her hubby.
Oh no. Mikoto found Misaka 10032 being taken away in an ambulance. Har. Mikoto calls Heaven Canceler (Touma's doctor) "the real-life Gekota." Uh oh. The stars in the eyes let us know who's been involved. Those ambulance guys' memories have been altered and they accuse her of tampering with the tracking in their vehicle.
Kuroko needs her oneesama time. Oh man. Misaki is a strategic thinker too. She wiped Uiharu's memory and implanted a suggestion to go somewhere else for an ambush. I guess that guy isn't really that old, but he's older, okay?
Mikoto now has Misaki's group of friends guarding her and everyone has stars in their eyes, including the principal. Worse, her best friends don't even remember her at all! Mikoto is totally alone. Well, for now. Spiky-kun will be showing up soon, I'm sure, and Kongou is always ready to be a good friend.
