It was only a matter of time before the monster Kuro battled the monster Steel Lady Nanase.
Saki was horrified to see her ex-fiance Kuro die in front of her, but even more so to see him get back up. While he and Steel Lady Nanase fought, Kotoko told Saki all about his two powers. We know about his immortality from eating mermaid flesh, but he also was made to eat kudan flesh, a mythical beast that can tell the future. Oh, and breaking Steel Lady Nanase's neck did not defeat her.
Kotoko confirmed her theory with Kuro's street fight with Steel Lady Nanase that she is not a regular youkai. She's a "monster of the imagination," in which an urban legend takes a form. They're usually weak, because urban legends are vague, but Steel Lady Nanase harnessed the power of the internet with a specific name and image on her wiki page. We'll have to see Kotoko's strategy to defeat an internet rumor and fake news next week.
