Ranka's big sister (literally) Ferrill was just as effusive with a tongue-bath greeting as the little wolf usually is.
Ferrill wanted Ranka to rejoin her pack, but she figured that if Ranka liked Jin so much, the only for that to happen was for Jin to join her pack too. Yes, that would involve lots of face licking. In the end, Ferrill accepted Ranka's wishes to make her own pack.
In the second half, the gender-confused hyena Yena sought to prove her male credentials to Jin by showing her strength, but they all backfired. Yukari's mythical koala grip strength was part of that string of failures. Later, Jin convinced Yena that she was a girl all along by imparting the fact that female hyena's genitals appear externally similar to male ones. Yena's dad had been waiting all this time to see his daughter wear the Seton girl's uniform.
