Ema the maid is thankful to see Makoto dressed as a butler-in-training so she can see him in many awkward romantic situations.
Makoto came to live at Hatena's mansion, who comes from a family of illusionists like her mother Maeve. It is hinted very strongly that magic is real and not just stage magic. Also, Hatena is very out of sorts that her best friend from childhood turned out to be a boy and she was the only one who didn't know that.
Ema, the red-headed maid, has peculiar tastes. She wants to make sure Yumemi, Hatena's younger sister regards her as the number one target for affection, but she also wants to see Makoto in all sorts of romantic comedy situations, whether it's with Hatena or maybe even the head butler, as long as she sees some kind of reaction out of the new magician's apprentice.
This series appears to have a lot of interest in it, letting artists like Yoko Uchida contribute to the end card illustrations.
