Cosmos's personality defect of resorting to old-fashioned samurai dramas when she has to put on a pretense always brings the comedy.
Asunaro brought back Bench-kun to confess to Joro that she's following him around because she needs to confirm that he's a dirty philandering playboy. Joro's hopes of expanding his harem were dashed and Cosmos's reprised familiar interactions with him did not refute Asunaro's suspicions.
Cosmos is a terrible liar. Obviously, she would be a terrible actor too, so naturally she would choose the hammiest overacting genre in Japanese drama to act out a pretense. Cosmos Samurai is totally "acting natural" and "flying casual."
All that work to prove to Asunaro the reporter that Joro wasn't a three-timing womanizer was dashed when her exposé was published anyway. To let the rumors cool down, the girls decided to stay away from Joro for a little bit (that's the annoying default solution in this show to let a new girl have room to outmaneuver the established harem members), so Asunaro volunteered to help Joro practice dancing for an upcoming event. Yandere Cosmos sees forbidden developments!
