Joro woke up to the dawning horror that he wasn't the protagonist in the romcom story he thought he was.
Joro thinks he's in a good situation with a childhood friend and a student council president as candidates for his romantic comedy story. Himawari and Cosmos, both nicknames made from characters in their names to create flowers (himawari is sunflower), appear to spend a lot of time in Joro's orbit.
In the span of a weekend, Joro's aspiring galge life comes to a crashing end when both Cosmos and Himawari go on dates with him, not to confess their love for him, but for his best friend Sun-chan the baseball ace. Worse, they both want his help in getting together with him.
Things look the same, like Himawari greeting him the same way in the morning, but he's no longer the happy hero and aspiring harem master, but a background character in a gray, dark world.
All hope is not lost for Joro finding a love interest, background character that he is. The mousy librarian's aide Pansy actually has a thing for him. The real him. Not the mentalist pickup artist playing the obtuse future boyfriend of his childhood friend or school idol president. We've got ourselves a twisted gag comedy spoofing all the conventions of teenage romance. Pansy is ready to play!
