10 Second Anime - Sword Art Online - Alicization - War of Underworld - Episode 2

Alice protects her village from a Dark Territory raid. Asuna and the Ocean Turtle crew take stock after being raided by unknown assailants.

Episode 2 - "Raids"

Hmm.

I'm glad Underworld got back to the action. It's also reassuring to see that these Integrity Knights really were a formidable enough force to stop the monster hordes coming from the Dark Territory. Unfortunately, it looks like the pontifex was correct in thinking that she couldn't make enough Knights quickly enough to stand against their massive numbers. Bercouli's assessment of needing thousands of human fighters to stop the Horde is the correct one, but they are going to suffer massive casualties. In a way, the pontifex came to the same conclusion, but instead of letting the people sacrifice half the population through their own will and action, she wanted to take the sacrifice first and wield a nation of weapons against the Horde. She was just greedy that way, because she would get to keep whatever toys she made after all the killing was done.

Meh.

One thing I will never like about SAO is how all the speculation and observations mixed together when people sit around talking about their current problems is the actual explanation for everything. There's never a misconception. There's never a hole that needs to be filled in with a hunted down clue. What that guy said right there is it. Just take it and move on to the next emotional build up with satisfying conclusion. This show is a wish fulfillment action adventure story. The only foreshadowing that happens is the stuff that gets pushed into your face and screams, "pay attention!" Like all the smirking, and smugness, and face tattoos from last season. Yeah. We got it. That was the bad guy.

Heh.

Kirito knows he has to go save the village. Woof. It really was an orc and goblin raid. Orcs look like pigs in this fantasy world. Alice, dynamic entry with three point hero landing. Kudos for revealing it from another angle. That rich guy is making the townspeople defend the buildings.

It's just satisfying to see Alice reveal herself, her authority, her healed eye, and take out the monster trash. Time to carry on with the Resistance, or whatever.

Even the goblins paused when they heard the voice of an Integrity Knight. Rank 3! Bercouli was number 1, but did we meet number 2? Was that Fanatio?

A dragon spitting fire? Of course! This scene was great. If the townspeople didn't believe a girl wearing armor, how about a flying dragon setting goblins ablaze? Alice's level is so high, she doesn't even have to worry about goblin swords hurting her. How long had it been since her eye healed? Why was it red before turning back to blue? Will the eye color change question ever be answered?

I thought Eldrie checked all the caves nearby. Was the northern one the leftover? It's not like he could lie to Alice, but maybe he missed a route? It sounds like Alice has said this "human wall" speech before.

I guess we'll see what the time skip has done to Central Capital Centoria when Alice and Kirito get back there.

Now let's see where everyone is at the Turtle and take all their explanations at face value. Kirito is an emotional husk with no Agency in his fluctlight. People need to stop using Freudian terms for psychology already.

The bad guys knew exactly where to go and what to do. The blue tattoo guy bumped into Asuna last season. All we have here is a setting change and exposition on where things stand after a dramatic event.

Smug and smirking. We're not supposed to like these guys ever.

Asuna is pissed. She should be. The key point to all this jabber is the console has a port where the Lightcube can be ejected. Everyone wants Alice, but they're going to need to get Kirito's cube too.

Uh oh. Asuna is tempted to jump into Underworld with him.
