The peleton passes through fields of sunflowers, a common scene from the Tour.

Today's stage to Bagnères-de-Luchon is the only time the Tour passes outside of France this year, for only 15 km inside of Spain. The route climbs up the Col du Portillon before descending 10 km to the finish.
