With a time skip reflecting Meliodas' absence, we had many blasts from the past with Golgius showing at the Boar's Hat. Elizabeth still made bad food, just in a different way.

The opening credits even showed Meliodas' absence, as Hawk and Elizabeth run the Boar's Hat Inn, mirroring the first chapters at the beginning of the story. Meliodas' body is perfectly healed, due to his immortality curse, but his soul is just not present.

Zaratras, the Holy Knights's captain whose death started the whole Seven Deadly Sins in exile story, came back due to Melasculas' magic and stayed around because of a loophole after she died. His druid magic showed Elizabeth relevant flashbacks of Meliodas' immortality and the promises he made to her as a child.
