Subtlety and misdirection has never been part of the DxD story. Last episode, they suspected that Chaos Brigade was involved with the disappearance of the 9-Tailed Fox Spirit. This episode, they showed a flashback to what should have been shown at the end of last season, and its only purpose was to connect a purple fog with the Hero Faction of Chaos Brigade. Even the title of the episode could be translated as Hero Faction, if the Japanese hadn't explicitly spelled out "Party" in katakana. Anyway, Lady Yasaka disappeared in a purple fog and the dude they kept showing with the Longinus Spear appeared in a purple fog, and there you go. No mystery, no detective work, just waiting around until the bad buys show up. Well, at least we had some great "action" scenes before the action scene.

Hey, flashback to some fighting with a Hero Faction guy. Welp, I guess we just confirmed who kidnapped the Fox Spirit.

Could they have animated that Hero Faction plot to take place in three episodes? Probably not.

So, here we have a lot of sightseeing montages. This is fine, since we have all these sexy girls about to get naked somehow.

Xenovia is just as superstitious as Asia. Irina too! The Church Trio get along so well.

Ha. Xenovia just keeps repeating that bunch of Sanskrit. And she wanted to see that Silver Temple! Well, at least the Golden Temple looked like gold.

Issei's oppai spirit is still running around. Obviously, that thing is going to be the key to victory against the arrayed fighters of the Hero Faction.

Ah. No more fighting the fox spirits and their retainers. Lots of negotiation and diplomacy behind the scenes must have occurred.

That Longinus spear just blasted through Azazel's defenses. I'm guessing there's going to be a lot of Shouty McShouterson fighting happening next episode.

Oh, I stitched together that final scene of the bikini car wash from the end credits. We really need each of these scenes to be released as standalone images.

It was Koneko's turn in the eye catch to get us ready for the three NSFW "action" scenes this week.
