Kondou also reclaimed a part of himself he thought he lost, his literary soul, and his dream ending of a wistful moment that could never be showed he still had it.

This was the moment Tachibana stopped being the name on the waitress name tag while taking metaphorical shelter from the rain at Kondou's restaurant, and became Akira the high school track star again.

The other costar of this show was definitely the sky, its moods, and its weather. Seeing this clearing sky gave me that wistful feeling of an almost-everything happy ending the Japanese love so much. Kondou's life should give him plenty of that feeling to access as he writes his novels.
