The Chef honored his guests with the special Meat Day, where instead of miso soup, pork soup is provided for free with many ingredients to present that nostalgic taste of home.
It seems like it's pretty rare for the end of the month to coincide with Saturday, otherwise Aletta and Kuro would have experienced Pork Soup and Meat Day already. The Chef still can't get used to Kuro talking to him with her actual voice and Aletta was impatient to try that Pork Soup.
Kuro and Aletta make quite the dichotomous pair in their waitress outfits.
Adelheid finished up her parfait with the desert prince still too shy to have a proper conversation with her. Aletta explained the specials to Artorias the old wizard when he arrived later than his usual time.
The reason Artorias was late was because he brought an old friend who looks young with him. Alex is one of those half-elves who live almost forever. He, just like Artorias, noticed Kuro's hidden power.
It appears that Alex and Artorias have a deep history with the Nekoya restaurant. One of their old fighting partners is actually the Chef's grandmother! She was thrown into this world after defeating a demon lord. Alex also turned out to be Princess Adelheid's great-grandfather, which is why Artorias wanted to come after she had already left. She looks just like Alex's long deceased wife.
And so ends this season's healing anime. I'm a little emotional about it just like Aletta. But I can still have a small smile about the memories of good food and good company, like Kuro. I wonder if there'll be a bit more story to this setting. There's subtle hints that the Chef and Kuro might grow fonder of one another. And even in the last episode we were introduced to some characters we didn't meet. I'm hopeful of another season of visiting the Western Restaurant Nekoya.
