It's getting toward the end of an anime season, so the minor characters in an action fantasy story need their time to shine. Like Karna from the Mahabharata as a Lancer showing what his golden armor of invulnerability can do.
Jeanne d'Arc's Noble Phantasm is called Eternal Light (or brightness, but that's not very poetic). Obviously, it comes from a glowing standard waved in front of the people she means to inspire and protect.
