There's always new tech at the Tour, and one of the innovations this year is stick-on race numbers. It's one of those things where you wonder why this hasn't been done before, but when you consider the elements, the sunlight, the sweat, how often the jersey moves around, plus the fact the riders aren't given new tags every day unless they're in the team leading the overall Team Competition, it's not a wonder that the riders will go back to what works.
You can see here that Chris Froome decided to go with the trusted safety pin instead of following his teammate Vasil Kiryienka opting for the sticky tags.
