OVA Shippuuden concludes. Jiraiya grows up with his friends Orochimaru and Tsunade. Kakashi makes friends with Obito, Rin and Guy.

Episode 483 - "Jiraiya • Kakashi"

Heh.

Poor Orochimaru. Jiraiya had been dragging him around getting him in trouble since they were kids. No wonder he fought so hard against him in later years.

I feel kind of bad for Jiraiya as Naruto's teacher. In the end, it was Kakashi's method of having Naruto use his shadow clones to gain the experience necessary in manipulating wind chakra to combine the rasengan with it to make the Rasengan Shuriken. Jiraiya laid the foundation with having the Toads teach him Sage Mode and teaching him the rasengan himself. Kakashi put it all together, though.

Tsunade was always a bad gambler.

If this weren't Naruto, that steamy bath scene in an OVA would have had way less steam getting in the way!

Kakashi turned into a neat freak without his mom and dad at home.

It wasn't until years later that Kakashi figured out how to honor his dad's code of saving his friends and honoring the ninja rules of completing the mission. The solution was to be a better ninja so that the rules were to complete the mission AND save your friends. This never precluded your friends from self-sacrifice in saving YOU. Obito did that (but he lived) and Rin did that for Kakashi too.

These little character OVA's are over (oshimai), so next time we move ahead in time to Sasuke's journey of atonement. No broadcast next week or the week after, so see you in December, Sasuke.
