Kanan just noticed she has way more lines this episode than all the previous ones combined.
Ruby was excited for whatever their next performance was going to be.
Hanamaru is fine with whatever as long as snacks are involved.
Yoshiko came back from Tokyo much more sensitive to "power spots." Snuggling a warm spot on a bench seems a little... off.
You has her special salute, but Yohane reminds you she has one too.
The main three have questions about what Dia knows about Kanan quitting her idol group. Ruby must KNOW something!
Yoshiko flipped a new switch. She'll chase down any loli trying to get away!
Hanamaru is definitely the Yoshiko wrangler.
Kanan runs. Kanan runs fast. Kanan runs happy. However, this is not a metaphor for her running away from being a school idol.
The younger Aqours girls do not run, fast, happy or otherwise. Well, maybe You does, but she can't keep up with Kanan.
Kanan is still a great dancer too.
Mari is her number one fan (and stalker).
The Aqours girls were about to witness some drama!
Oh, and Kanan brought the drama. She hurt Mari's feelings for real.
You just can't resist catching a cute outfit.
The three senior girls finally had that fight they've all needed. But was it enough to clear the air?
Well, Chika knows how to clear the air. Hanamaru knows when yelling is about to happen.
Nobody's being honest about their feelings yet, but we can tell that Dia and Kanan have been to the same tsun tsun school.
Chika got frustrated. Wasn't all her yelling before good enough?
Whoops. Someone's secret about dancing like a school idol just got out.
And now who was the one who told the younger girls about the first failed performance in Tokyo? I thought is was supposed to be Kanan doing all the running away, not Dia.
Never fear. The Kurosawa Hunter is here! Yoshiko must have hade enough practice chasing down Ruby to trap her older sister.
Hanamaru knows how to read the serious atmosphere and yoinks Yoshiko right out of there.
Aw. The first time all three of the friends met.
Boy, lots of running this episode. Mari's not running for her health here, though.
Lots of reminiscing of their long friendship too.
I wonder what this show would look like if it were animated like these close-ups all the time.
Wet, scraped and bruised physically and emotionally, Mari's ready for a cathartic scene with Kanan.
And there it is. Kanan quit the school idol group so Mari could study overseas, but didn't tell her that because she knew Mari would never accept that sacrifice. They cared too much for each other! Or something.
Mari's all about fairness. She gave a good slap so now Kanan can pay her back.
Instead of slapping her back, Mari was reminded of the first thing Kanan ever gave her: a hug.
This was a nice callback to the rejected hug last episode.
And there's your catharsis. Best friends again. This also looks very similar to the wrestling match in the classroom that Chika interrupted.
Aqours complete! All nine are singing together!
Aqours' next performance was at the Summer Festival.
Both Kanan and Dia got right into singing and dancing as if they'd never stopped.
Dia seemed happiest of all that Kanan and Mari had rejoined the group.
Mari's dream of getting Aqours back together came true.
You was ready to add three more outfits to their planned performance.
So now we know. Mari's a winker when she sings and dances. Yoshiko too.
They all looked so nice in their Summer Festival Yukata-inspired idol outfits.
This wouldn't be Love Live without the big circle of nine girls.
Aqours ended the summer festival with a fireworks bang.
With Aqours fully assembled, its greatest secret could be told. The three seniors' original group was Aqours too and it was Dia who wrote the name in the sand.
