Episode 468 - "The Successor"

Ashura! I choose you! Ahem. Let's get that Pokémon joke out of the way...

Hagoromo claims that he chose Ashura over Indra because of how the village Indra visited fell into chaos and conflict over water rights because he gave them a solution so quickly and without their help. Because Ashura bonded with the villagers, who all pitched in, so they all felt part of the solution.

Hagoromo said, "Happiness obtained the easy way never lasts." Yup. That's a very sage thing to say.

I wished we had seen Indra's villagers fight over the water instead of just taking Hagoromo's word for it, but I guess we needed to get to the rest of the story, such as it was.

Kanna got called out for falling in love with Ashura. Notice that she didn't deny it...

Hagoromo blamed Indra's Sharingan for becoming arrogant and closed off. Because Ashura makes bonds with people, Hagoromo is confident Ninshu won't be used for evil. Oh well, right?

It's the same old fight between the sages and the Uchiha. Susano'o vs. Thousand Palm Wood Technique.

I always forget how dumb Naruto is and how he has to make clones to complete his Rasengan. Maybe Naruto should go dig a well for a year too.

Next time, more filler! We're going old school in getting an HD version of an original Naruto special win which Team 7 tried to get a view of Kakashi's face beneath his mask. Fun, for the young'uns who never lived through the pain of a hundred episodes of filler in a row.
