Kizuna recharges Aine in the middle of a large battle and helps her unlock a new weapon.
Episode 4 - "Climax Hybrid"
Heh.
Well, this show knows that whenever there's an action sequence, it needs to add an ACTION sequence to recharge some girl's battery. Whoa.
We gathered some info that answered a few questions about Kizuna's past with his mother. He was dropped as a research subject because when they found Aine, she had much better affinity with the Hybrid Gear. I suppose Dr. Hida would have been interested in Kizuna's Heart Hybrid power after he reached puberty, but she disappeared before that happened.
Dr. Hida mentioned that Aine had the potential to unlock an Immoral Weapon. Just guess what she had to do to get it. Aw, you guessed it already!
Aine is pretty competitive, which comes as a byproduct of being praised by Dr. Hida for her Hybrid affinity and overall power. Unfortunately for her, she's a sniper type, so she lacks the Area of Effect offensive capabilities the other girls have. She's just not going to kill as many fodder and she's going to waste a lot of Hybrid Count to do it.
So, of course, she almost gets herself killed and McFluffer needs to have some McFluffing time to get her back into the game.
Her admission of researching her clumsy attempt to provoke Kizuna into performing, ah, Heart Hybrid stuff was pretty funny. She really should not be getting any ideas from an ecchi magazine. I mean, she should, but there's a time and place for that.
The revelation about how Climax Hybrid works was the whole point of the episode. Once the girls get topped off, if "things" continue, they get sexually aggressive. The sequence confirmed that Aine's trigger for Heart Hybrid recharging was being told she's cute by Kizuna.
Thankfully the shut-in character was around to explain things. This also meant she was watching the whole encounter in the lab between the two. Shikina likes to watch, ufufufu...
After much excitement, Aine unlocked her Immoral Weapon, which she used to destroy the main battleship of the invasion force, and she showed off her new Climax Hybrid Gear. Pink hair? Of course!
The day was saved. There was much rejoicing. Aine revealed her climax was so strong she saw heaven, er, I mean, she saw a memory of a pretty lake and a city with markings suspiciously similar to the ones these Unknown forces have on their large ships. So she's being set up as the bridge character between the invaders and the Earthlings.
Finally, the cliffhanger revelation was that surveillance picked up actual people mixed in with the enemy forces. Everything they've seen so far looks like robot mecha, so this is a new thing to them, although the audience saw this already with Yurishia's island adventure with Kizuna. I'm sure the disappearance of Mama Hida is related to why they look like they use Hybrid Gear. I hope we don't get into the generic plot device of using the enemy's technology to boost offensive capabilities and it's going to have unintended consequences. Let's please have something else happen.

Because this time around she's not holding back for the NSFW action sequence that advances the PLOT.
This time around, the girl was the aggressor, which is kind of a new thing for these kinds of shows. Usually the harem pilot suit show has the girls be aggressive with each other in stealing time with the harem master, but they get very passive when the idiot actually shows some interest. Not this show.
But let's back up first. The scene had two parts. The first part is the one we're familiar with. Girl receives the trigger, they both glow and Heart Hybrid count gets filled up. It's different for Aine in this episode, because she's actually conscious for all the heavy petting.
Looks like McFluffer is adding some techniques to his repertoire...
Successful recharging, but Aine noticed a difference.
And then it was onto part two, with some helpful voyeuristic exposition from Shikina. When a Hybrid Girl is at 100% from Heart Hybrid recharging, she gets sexually aggressive, which unlocks Climax Hybrid Gear and her Immoral Weapon.
If Heart is the lovey dovey stuff necessary for quick recharging, Climax is the next level for new Gear and powers.
See kids, this is educational. First share cutesy loving feelings for a girl, then drive her crazy sexually. It's what the world needs now. Crazy sexy stuff AFTER falling in love.
And talk about crazy with desire, Aine almost suffocated Kizuna with how close she wanted to hold him.
And this dude is not some limp harem master either. If there's a girl in heat in front of him, he helps her out! I'm liking the McFluffer more and more, but I wish he'd stop being the shouting fighter type where the volume of the yelling increases his damage output. We don't need to see, or hear that.
The End Card is pretty suggestive about the overall plot. Could there be spoilers in there?
Next time, building on Aine and Kizuna's romping in the unoccupied lab room, the crew build the "Love Room" we saw in the flash forward form the first episode. I want to see how Hayuru gets over calling Kizuna "perverted," because they haven't had a recharging scene yet.
