10 Second Anime - Kiznaiver - Episode 5

The Kiznaivers' training camp begins with a few personal revelations and a Test of Courage.

Episode 5 - "Wahoo, it's training camp! Let's step in deer poop and have pillow fights! Go, go!"

Heh.

Tenga is totally on board the ship Katsuhira X Chidori!

Apparently, this most obvious thing that Chidori likes Katsuhira is obvious to everyone else as well.

Katsuhira is as clueless as ever. He can't even tell that Hisomu is trying to "accidentally" hurt him to get his jollies off.

Nico continues to show her perceptive side. She can tell when Hisomu is trying to take advantage of Katsuhira.

Heck, she can even tell that she's "bigger" than Chidori in relation to Noriko. Life's little victories...

Nico proclaimed Noriko "so bold" when she stepped out of the hot bath, but was that because she was walking around without a towel or because of some hygienic preferences on her part? I'm asking if she shaves her cooch. Nice of the writers to leave that issue vague to leave an impact on the questioning viewer.

Yuta and Maki shared an intimate moment. He's been trying to get her to join his harem since forever, so now it's time for Maki to pay him back a little bit for the unwanted attention.

I liked their one exchange where Yuta asked, "Are you the type who stays quiet and listens?" Maki replied, true to her personality, "No, I'm the type who doesn't care." So cruel!

We also learned that Yuta needs to follow a special diet to keep his weight off and that Maki is nice enough to make a meal for him.

Noriko's conventional plan of having the Kiznaivers strengthen their bonds appeared to be working, but the other members of the Kizna Committee had legitimate reasons for following them to the camp besides Ushibara the counselor stalking Noriko.

Well, catching teens expressing inappropriate behavior is a reason too, but the Kizna committee wanted to confirm some things about this batch of Kiznaivers.

All the mascots are part-time workers, including the bullies they kidnapped and stuck the Kizna system in their foreheads.

The kids learned what we learned in the second episode: they got sold out by their teachers and almost everyone in the city works for this Kizna Committee.

Since they would know all the personal details of each of these kids, when Noriko decided to join them, I think they wanted to test whether the Kizna system had made progress following Noriko's protocols with these 7 toxic personalities.

Namely, they wanted to force an emotional response, be it jealousy or heartbreak, from Chidori as she saw Katsuhira interact with Noriko.

They also tried the more conventional Test of Courage to scare the bejeezus out of the kids to see if that emotional pain was also shared. It turned out, we saw the first hint of this emotional pain transfer from Chidori when she saw Noriko holding Katsuhira's cheek. Of course, it was a misunderstanding. Noriko had just swatted a mosquito.

However, bringing the bullies along did have a successful payoff because of Chidori's emotional admission of being hurt too when they hurt him.

The teachers and Noriko call this emotional pain sharing Stage 2 and that they're the first group to reach it.

Still no superpowers, but we know each of the kids are pretty good at whacking the mascots in the head with sticks. I hope those part-timers get hazard pay.
