10 Second Anime - Flying Witch - Episode 2

The Harbinger of Spring visits Makoto. Makoto dreams of Nao's good fortune. Chinatsu hates bakke tempura.

Episode 2 - "A Visitor for the Witch"

Heh.

Healing anime continues this week with Makoto getting a little better at walking to school and back home. I like her little victory gesture.

We also got a reminder that there's more to witches than just flying on brooms and handling weird herbs. The Harbinger of Spring heard there was a new witch in the area, so he wanted to pay a visit to her. But first, he had to get by Chinatsu.

Stranger danger! Call the cops!

I suppose that he's supposed to be wearing an owl mask. There's also a small crack in it. I wonder if that's a story that will be told.

Chinatsu's favor won't be bought by a small pot of pretty flowers. She's not that cheap. Hmm, they ARE pretty flowers, though...

Makoto had a weird daydream. And she was awfully proud of it because sometimes, and Makoto stresses the "sometimes" part, a witch's dreams can be prophetic.

We get it, Makoto. Sometimes. The clearest thing in the dream was the little beauty mark on Nao's neck which said "Super Good Luck." Nao was still waiting for that good luck at the end of the episode.

This show isn't just about discovering how different witches are. Makoto also has to learn more about living in the country. The locals like to fry up butterbur flower shoots as tempura. They call the shoot "bakke." Kei doesn't seem to care much for school, but he appears to be a good local boy.

Also, he was right about not picking the shoots near the utility poles since dogs like "visiting" those places.

We got to meet Kei and Chinatsu's mother too. This reminded me of the scene from the first episode for how well the siblings get along when Chinatsu joined in Kei's joke that Makoto was their long lost mother.

Also, big brother squishing little sister's face is adorable.

Chinatsu is definitely a normal kid. She's shy around strangers, especially scary faced ones, and she doesn't like bitter things, like bakke.

Kei's Mom realized that Kei wasn't carrying any school supplies in his bag either. That was a cute little call back.

Look! End credits. The premiere put the opening credits at the end because they introduced the show with Makoto and Chito traveling on a train.

This show doesn't do previews, which is fine. It's healing anime with no real plot. Just watching things happen as they happen is what this genre is all about.
