10 Second Anime - Shokugeki no Soma - Episode 3



Souma officially enters the cooking school, shocking Erina with his presence. He quickly becomes infamous for his brashness and culinary skill.

Heh.

Souma makes quite the impression on people, right? The nonchalance, ignorance and confidence that make up his personality painted a target on his back as soon as he got to school. That speech he gave as the transfer student was golden!

 

I was looking forward to Erina's reaction to Souma attending over her rejection and I was not disappointed. The way the music swelled as Souma placed his twelve years of practical experience over the 3 years of cooking lessons for the junior high students made me want to root for Souma even more. Good job.

 

Souma's got to be Souma, even with potential allies and friends. 

Souma has been cooking Japanese food for 12 years (under a hidden god of cooking, but still) so he had no idea what this "bifu bolgunyon" was supposed to be. Megumi Tadokoro, who really needed a passing grade in this kitchen practical, entered a deeper state of despair. Good thing for her that Souma can still make incredible food from just reading a recipe.

 

I liked how Souma didn't start a fight with the saboteurs. He did his fighting with his cooking!

 

Tender beef in half the time? Buzzing bee Soumas dousing you in honey during your foodgasm? That's good enough for the highest grade and putting a smile on the chef who never smiles.

 

Souma was feeling pretty good about working with Megumi. Her reward - Souma's disgusting experiments with squid tentacles!

Honey-pickled tentacles. Hooboy. But he wasn't done with Megumi's taste buds yet. He's still super confident about his peanut butter tentacles!

 

 

Geh.

The introduction of a new girl means she's got to get naked during her foodgasm, right? The Chef Instructor Chapelle did too, but lets not talk about him. What's important here is that the foodgasms emphasize sensuality, not sexuality.

Bare skin and the images of touch enhancing flavor are all good ways of showing how the Yukihira school of cooking embodies entertaining all the senses, not just smell and taste. Also, Megumi is just the cutest thing in this show so far.

 

With school starting properly for Souma, that means it time to meet some new girls. Erina still gives us some good leg action, but I want to see more of Ryouko, the girl riding the coffee bean down there, and her loli friend.

The chili bean, coffee and cinnamon are somehow related to each of the girls, so I'm ready for some high school hijinks where we find out how.
