After a few more misunderstandings, Suna helps Takeo and Rinko confess their feelings for each other.
Heh.
I think I melted into a puddle of fuzzy angora from the cute overload.
Thankfully, the interplay of crossed channels didn't last too long. A lot of romance comedy plays off of this, but with two main characters who are so straightforward and so ready to take action on their perceptions, that wasn't going to happen here.
We got the third retelling of the red and blue ogre story, but portraying it through the lens of Takeo's and Suna's kindergarten play was brilliant. Rinko was affected in all the right ways and is now on the same page with Takeo about what a great guy and great friend Suna has been.
Takeo needed super psyching up to help Rinko get her feelings across to Suna, or so he misperceived.
That's powerful!
How necessary was it for Suna to make Rinko confess her feelings for Takeo out loud so many times? Absolutely necessary. He knew Takeo's thick-headedness, so he made sure he got it.
Suna's mom looked like she'd seen all this craziness between Suna and Takeo before. She could only stare at Takeo attempting to hide under Suna's bed.
Takeo rises from the deep, awoken by a pure maiden's cries for love...
Now that all the confusion is out of the way, the real love story of an unlikely pair can begin. We've seen much of Takeo, but hardly anything about Rinko, and barely some of Suna. Still, Takeo has much material to keep us laughing. Like the whole omake about his habit of sticking his face too close.
That was a nice way of introducing Suna's older sister, with their sharing a funny moment about Takeo standing too close to the camera in the door chime. This world is about to get a little bit bigger now that Takeo and Rinko have made their match.
Rinko is absolutely adorable!
Takeo was such a doof too. Rinko came to park totally dressed up and he showed up in a T-Shirt and shorts. Well, he had misread Rinko's intentions anyway, but still.
Takeo still gives good emotional reactions. In a manly way, of course!
Hmm.
I thought it was "totally cool" of Suna to just tell Takeo everything, and not just about Rinko confessing her feelings for Takeo when they met at the park, but all his past rejection history. All those girls that Takeo liked that liked Suna had talked badly about Takeo behind his back. What friend would want to go out with a girl that badmouths your best friend? Bro-tastic! All the little things caused Takeo's misunderstanding were placed properly in context too. From Rinko not wanting Suna to leave her first meeting in Takeo's room because she was nervous, to Suna saying a nice thing about a girl for the first time because she had just told him how great Takeo was. There I go again, dripping fuzzy angora...
I don't know where the story is going next, but I know I want more cute overload! The main three have established their grouping, with Takeo's and Rinko's courtship and Rinko appreciating and supporting the manly friendship between Takeo and Suna. Takeo is the lynchpin handing out reactions, so I think we're going to see the story start curling its way out from him to follow Rinko and Suna. We've seen enough of Suna, for the moment, from Takeo's idealistic perspective, so it should be time for Rinko to reveal more of her life. I have a feeling much more cuteness and awkwardness with manly rage faces is coming up next.
