10 Second Anime - Ore Monogatari!! - Episode 2



Rinko takes the initiative with Takeo, but he still believes she is interested in Suna.

Heh.

Rinko is so bold! Kyaa~! She knows what she wants and she's going out to get it, and she wants some Takeo! Too bad our red ogre just cannot wrap his head around the idea that someone cute could like him back.

 

I hope Takeo's misunderstanding that he's the lead pilot instead of the wingman gets resolved quickly, because while understandable considering his character, if Suna and Rinko are getting annoyed by it, then so is the audience.

 

Rinko said she was pretty strong too, while trying to hold up that girder at the end with Takeo and Suna. She could have been just saying that but I wonder if we'll get a scene that proves it.

 

Takeo and Suna have been friends for 12 years and Takeo's still trying to figure out what makes him tick.

I just love how the train handgrip resting on Takeo's head is a normal thing for him.

 

This is how manly men have a conversation - chew the scenery, make strong faces, and...

make sure there's a tree with a man's butt in your face. I think I got a little lost there at the end.

 

That was funny that Takeo is only now wondering what kind of girl Suna likes because he wanted to help him and Rinko get together.

 

Rinko is absolutely precious.

Manly men, or at least Takeo with his big fingers, take their time texting a girl back. Rinko showed that she's just the normal cute girl with all the emojis and super fast replies.

There was a real life tie-in for the ogre fairy tale at the beginning of the first episode - Takeo and Suna were cast as the red and blue ogres in a kindergarten play.

Takeo thought he was talking up Suna to Rinko, but what he was actually endearing himself by showing this big strong guy who catches gropers has a vulnerable side too. It also showed Rinko how much Takeo relies on his buddy Suna, so maybe she could be a little more patient in having a third wheel show up for a little while longer.

I think things should go a little easier for Takeo and Rinko when they do finally start dating because they go to different schools than if they went to the same one. All the girls he liked before had crushes on Suna because of their proximity, but an effort has to be made by both of them to reach out to the other. It's still one sided on Rinko's part and Takeo is misreading her intentions right now, but there should be the lack of classmate pressure and other angst when they're finally together.

This show is supposed to be shoujo romance comedy, but when they do action, they do it like pure shounen sports battle anime.

Instant Knock Out! No wonder Takeo was a little loopy afterwards, never mind the falling girder that almost flattened Rinko.

 

 

Hmm.

I'm hoping next episode that Rinko makes clear what's going on with Takeo. He's pretty dense and he was still trying to forcefully interpret circumstances to match his misconceptions. Like a girl would actually call a boy, tell that boy to leave his buddy behind, so they can talk about dating the buddy left behind. That could happen in other contexts, but not with a phone call after school to someone who is still very much a stranger. Rinko has a pretty straightforward personality, so I'm looking forward to the inevitable scene where she bashes through the wall that Takeo erected around himself that he thinks no girl could like him with Suna around.

 

I wonder if we're going to get another round of misunderstanding if Rinko has to call Suna for help in trying to get together with Takeo. It's not really necessary to drag it out so long, because there looks like tons of material to mine just from Takeo being a big manly man who knows nothing about girls. I'm just growing impatient, personally, because I want to see all the cuteness overload when these two interact with each other.
