Durarara!! X2 - Episode 1

6 months after the events of the first season of Durarara!!, some things in Ikebukuro haven't changed, some things have and new things are about to start. Although centered around the dullahan Celty, the story follows many other interesting people finding their way in the city.

First Thoughts.

Yeah! Everybody's back! There was a distinct lack of vending machines thrown at ripped up street signs, but at least we had Celty running up the side of a building on her black horse. The first season concentrated on the three young friends who met at school and ended up being the gang leaders of the most powerful factions in the city, but things have calmed down 6 months later, so maybe we can concentrate on the dullahan, a headless rider spirit from Irish lore, on which the title is based. Shinra's new mother-in-law is a nurse who is helping the family examine Celty, and maybe finally find her missing head. Who knows where this story will go, but it's going to be a fun ride!

I'm a fan of all the other quirky characters, but I always watched every episode waiting for Celty's next appearance. I'm hoping the sequel will show us a bit more of her than the first season.

We're already off to a good start!

 

Update and by request, we have two very different twin sisters watching the news.

 

 

Kuru-nee needs some quiet time to watch her stories, but maybe habanero spray is a bit overkill. On the other hand, looking at her super genki girl sister's antics, maybe not...

 

 

Hmm.

I have no plans to blog this show as a 10 Second Anime feature because with so many characters each article would devolve into plot summary. I would rather just watch the show at that point. But I will be watching and there will probably be lots of material for omake gifs.
