Madan no Ou to Vanadis - Episode 10
Tigre's imaginative tactics almost work against Barbarossa's superior numbers, but the timely reinforcements of three knightly orders and his noble allies force the enemy's retreat.
Heh.
Man tears almost flowed this episode. We didn't see Tigre's because he was trying to hide them from Mira. How would you feel if one of your childhood heroes who served with your respected father came to your rescue and pronounced you a righteous man worthy to be called his father's son? Yeah. FEELS!I almost had man tears fall when Tigre apologized to Elen for the deaths of her soldiers. That's king level compassion. The whole point of Tigre opposing the slaver invasion is king level compassion. Rally the nobles and knightly orders to repel an invasion and protect the citizens. Who's supposed to do that in Brune again? Oh yeah, the King.
Red Beard spent the whole battle keeping out of Tigre's bow range. That's military respect. He didn't have to embellish much when he sent his envoy with terms of withdrawal.
With hostilities ended, we had some time to spend on Vanadis harem hijinks.
I found it funny that Mira's dragon gear woke her up to warn her of Elen's entrance. Did the dragon gear want to make Elen jealous too?
Elen was feeling anxious because she hadn't any personal Tigre time and Mira was hogging him this whole time. She only had so much patience.
Hah! Tigre tug of war! Mira is a bit more mature than Elen, though. She deferred to Tigre's feelings that Elen was taking the teasing a more seriously than she was. Her little tap on Tigre before she went back to her army showed she was only letting Elen win this round for his sake.
Squee! Tigre and Elen held hands looking at the stars. Doesn't that mean they're already married according to anime rules?
Hmm.
One of the counts warned of more serious times ahead after their great victory against the Muozinel invasion. Tigre was supposed to be a pawn for Thenardier and Ganelon to use as an excuse to move against each other. They hadn't counted on one, then three War Maidens to fight on his behalf, to recruit a half dozen other nobles and then rally three knightly orders to his banner. In pursuing Thenardier to protect his little province of Alsace, he has become a third power in the land of Brune. With that many people following him, trying to suppress another duke and protect civilians will be too small of a mandate for their chosen leader. They'll want something grander. Something more noble.Elen and Tigre seem tied together by more than mercenary reasons now. Happy times can't last too long in this kind of story. With popular ambition growing behind Tigre the young count, there will need to be a viable claim to the throne. The blonde refugee who is accustomed to food tasters just might be the next source of drama between Elen and Tigre, and she may also open the path the plot of the main story takes us.
