Ah, so this filler arc is about the consequences of the all that collected magic from the Eclipse Project. It caused all the weird weather when the gate was destroyed and it caused the Celestial Spirits to go mad. That's an okay premise for "anime only in-depth story telling." Since we're in the middle of filler, it's nice to appreciate the fanservice that comes along with it.
