Salia convinces Ange to rely on her squad mates and not take all the risk on her own.

Don't you hate it when you find out that official Engrish has cheapened your anime? Salia's name is actually Thalia, according to Momoka's awesome English.



With how Momoka loves her Angelise-sama, I have no trouble believing that she could pull off another 49 pages of that scholarly prose. Well, everything I've written says Salia, so I'm not going to change that now.

Speaking of Thalia, er, Salia, it was very nice to have an episode devoted to her. Ever since I saw those blue reading glasses, I've been waiting to see them again. The question put before you: Megane Blue or Megane Red?



Like you have to ask. Serious megane discussion is serious.



We learned that Salia has a dark secret. Actually, it's a bright pink secret.

Bishojou Sekishi Pretty Thalian? Pretty young lady Holy Knight Pretty Thalian? I'm sure it's not a coincidence that Holy Knight is a homophone for how the Japanese say "sexy." Also, I'll remember to call my personal hobbies "psychological maintenance to manage stress." Ange didn't seem to care all that much about Salia's pursuits, but she knows she has leverage.



I was also a big fan of using Salia's Captain's Log as the narrative device for her episode. It stressed that she is the designated leader of Ange's squad, but only got that position because of Zora's death. Not only does she have discipline problems with Ange, but Hilda and her clique too.

Wow, if you're a Norma pilot, don't get sick. What a way to drive home the point that these girls are owned by Arzenal, like coal miners needing to take loans from the company store to buy personal supplies. Taking a personal day at Arzenal costs a million of their dollars. This also shows how much killing these dragons pay if they're still getting something in return. Ange needs to bring home the bacon since Momoka is a stay-at-home maid.



No way is Momoka letting her Angelise-sama leave for work delirious from fever.



That's better. Ange bring the smexy back...

Ersha is such an old-fashioned mom, looking at her savings passbook to see how much money she can spend on the little kids. Ange wasn't just taking money away from Hilda and her clique.

Geh.

The reason Ange got sick is also a good reminder to buy the blu-rays.



Ange got sick from fighting Salia in the bath and caught a chill. Now, Salia wasn't fighting Ange to reinforce the command structure. She needed to eliminate someone who discovered her bright pink secret. Girl fight!



No pulling hair in this trashy anime. Those glorious twin-tails of Salia's are such an inviting target, but Ange needs to pay her back for boob grabbing. Ah... not very much to grab on to there.



That's doubly insulting. Trying to fight dirty, but realizing you can't because your opponent has small breasts. I think Salia may need more "psychological maintenance to manage stress" after this.

Besides the steam-covered scenes in the spa, Hilda, Rosalie, and Chris showed us what we've been missing since the second episode.



Hmm.

The little Norma conspiracy on Arzenal is in contact with Tusk. Bishojou Salia has to blush at the idea of Ange being alone on an island with a man. They even have a name for their operation against the magic users: Libertas.

Ange has finally bonded with her squad, by being naked and wet together, of course, but Hilda has excluded herself. Part of why Ange was killing the Dragons on her own was to stop being targeted in the back by Hilda's little clique, and to make sure no one else died in her squad like on her first mission. We'll have to see when Hilda finally comes around.

At the end of the episode, Ange's little sister Sylvia contacts Momoko through their magic phone (that's handy) and is threatened or captured somehow. Ange feels the need to save her, but from whom or what, we don't know.

Next week seems to be a swimsuit episode of some sort (naturally, it's about that time in the season), so I wonder if it's finally time to get some answers to all these questions about how this world works and what's at stake. If Salia is involved, I want to see her glasses and her magic wand again!
