Sword Art Online II - Episode 15



A new Act brings us back to Alfheim as Kirito asks his friends to help him gain Excalibur. The quest is not as it seems, as others also seek the holy sword.

Heh.

This starts out as a simple gaming quest among friends over a holiday, but there's already some anomalies. A quest can have a binary moral path, but choosing one or the other does not end up changing the game world as if there were a major patch applied. That ties in with what Yui noticed about the NPC Quest Giver using an AI language module instead of reading from a script. Something is up with this quest.

Kirito always has swords on his brain, and in his eyes.

Don't you dare call Tonkii weird looking!



Sinon joined the harem, er, ALO party, and of course she's an archer trying to be a sniper in a magic based game. She equipped properly, and she looks almost exactly like she did in GGO. Except now she has nekomimi. Nyaa~

Klein tried to have a salaryman conversation with Silica, but she's barely in high school. All she could do is smile and nod.

Oh, let's remind ourselves what all the ALO versions of our SAO characters look like now.

Sinon brought her hot pants with from GGO, so we can all be happy that, although she let go of the gun, Sinon Ass Online lives on.



That Kirito guy. Always teasing the girls by pulling on the pigtails, or in Sinon's case, her cat tail.



It looks like Sinon's and Kirito's relationship hasn't changed at all in two weeks. Silica wonders why Kirito never pulled her tail like that...

Geh.

Now that we're back in ALO, that means the show has to make up for serious lack of Asuna fanservice. Oh, they made up for it alright.

I accept your apologies, SAO II. Don't let it happen again.

Hmm.

There were a few clues about what's going on with this supposedly normal quest with strange meta anomalies. We've seen already the use of an AI NPC and our main characters saw other players helping Boss Level Enemies kill other large beasts, without being attacked themselves. The major clue, though, is that Leafa and Kirito befriended Tonkii months ago and were shown the location of Excalibur, but they never accepted a quest to retrieve it.

When Kirito's involved, no normal quest is ever so normal. I'm interested to see what ALO is going to throw at his quest party in the halls of the Frost Giants' Castle. They have a time limit too, as other players are killing the Hill Giants' beast friends, and when they're all gone, the surface of ALO will be changed dramatically without notice from the Game Masters. Or will it? We'll find out as Kirito finds out, I'm sure.
