The Kages join the battle and the Shinobi Army regroups. As Naruto and Sasuke take on Obito, the ninjas are set on cutting down the Tree.

That Will of Fire music gets me every time it plays, and even though it was used just to make Shikamaru sit up, it got me. It shows Naruto's conviction on not letting his comrades die. It's almost like he's a benevolent demigod bestowing his blessings upon those he touches.Obito is still using delaying tactics, waiting for the Tree to blossom, but as Kakashi notices, he's also still trying to find an answer from Naruto on why he should give up this crazy plan of Madara's.
I guess Obito didn't take notes from Nagato's battle with Naruto. First, he should know it's Naruto's Ninja Way never to go back on his word. And I was waiting to hear the second thing: he needs to give up on Naruto giving up.
I keep forgetting how rough Naruto had it to sustain Sage Mode with just his Shadow Clone trick. But now with Kurama inside him doing the Nature Energy absorption for him, like the Grandpa and Grandma Toads used to do for Jiraiya, Naruto can be in Sage Mode all the time, as long as he doesn't use up Nature Energy faster than Kurama gives it to him.
Hey, if I were standing on a gooey surface that healed me instantly, I'd be jumping up and down too.
I really do miss that Rock Lee show.
We got left at a nice place for the end of the show. A little teaser on how Susanoo was originally used on the tailed beasts the Uchiha could summon.
Hmm.
Obito thinks things are going to plan, but he's going to get betrayed pretty soon by Madara. Plus, you know it's going to happen right when Naruto's persistence convinces Obito to stop the Infinite Dream plan. Ah well. Obito said it himself that it was only a matter of time before your comrades betray you. He's going to be right about that.
Isn't it amazing how Naruto's mangaka got it so right, and Bleach's mangaka just plain got it so wrong? This is how you do an anime based on a quality manga. Works that have been going on for more than a decade, and yet Bleach just totally ran out of steam. Naruto just keeps building higher and higher toward the finish...the quality of the manga is not diminishing at all in the anime.
ReplyDeleteAfter Naruto became Naruto Shippuuden, they did filler right. With so many characters and so much of the story untold in the manga, why not have it told in the anime? Bleach was bizarre, telling all these strange stories totally unconnected to the manga. The planning was all wrong, especially during the Hueco Mundo arc. Stopping the main story for a whole season for some unrelated thing, and then coming back to it. No wonder it got cancelled.
DeleteI wonder how many seasons Naruto Shippuuden will take to get to the finale. They could go really fast or really slow, depending on what they have planned for animating this New Era project. My bet is that the world of Naruto will be going on for a long time yet.
