Madan no Ou to Vanadis - Episode 3
Zion's numerically superior forces are routed by superior tactics, subterfuge, and a couple of people who can kill dragons with one shot.
Heh.
Why do overpowering wind attacks always come down to Rasengan?Hey, armored eyes! These tank dragons really are bred for battle. I'm sure they navigate mostly by smell anyway.
Zion didn't do anything wrong with his tactics, but he just wasn't that creative to deal with unexpected losses or developments. Besides, he had no idea he was going to lose one dragon much less both of them with his life.
Seeing Elen in action was great and all, but I wanted to see more of Lim. We've already seen Elen riding around in the first episode, but I'm getting a bit bored with Lim just staring and nodding once in acknowledgement.
Glowing bow with dragon eyes that talks. Now we know what the possessed or demonic bow twang refers to.
Elen's forces don't need to be very big if she provides an air shield against arrows.
A lance? Tigre don't need no stinking lance in a jousting duel. His arrows have greater reach anyway.
Nice idea of the chess pieces to explain what was going on in the battle, but too bad the CGI looked a little rushed.
Hmm.
I hope this show doesn't turn into an Infinite Stratos type thing where these Dragon Gear items are only supposed to be handled by women but this bow has chosen a man for the first time. That's assuming this possessed bow is a Dragon Gear.Elen's sword Arifar (sounds like Aladdin's invocation of wind-based magic from Magi) appears to have an affinity toward Tigre and now his bow. I wonder if the other Vanadis weapons we see will also have some affinity toward Tigre.
There's going to be some geopolitical fallout after this battle. The kingdom of Zhcted has effectively annexed a territory of Brune, and the heir to one of its powerful lords is dead at the hand of the former Earl of Alsace.
We need some downtime to take in all these ramifications. Hopefully, this means more talking with Lim while Tigre and Elen try to figure out what is up with his bow. Maybe she'll do more than nod her head or grunt in frustration at all the blatant flirting going on.
