Akame ga Kill! - Episode 14



The mysterious man transports Esdeath and Tatsumi to a southern deserted island. Esdeath tells Tatsumi about her past. Tatsumi escapes from Esdeath again.

Heh.

May as well have called this episode Esdeath ga Kill!

That mystery man following or controlling those strange monsters was none other than the prime minister's son. It makes you wonder just how many secret places Dr. Stylish had to stash his experiments.

Tatsumi is a good kid for leveling up so fast since the last time Esdeath saw him.



Tatsumi seems easily swayed by powerful people.

Stuck on a deserted island with a beautiful woman who's madly in love with you (emphasis madly), how terrible! What should Tatsumi do?



Obviously he should have chosen to stay on the island with her, keeping her away from the rest of the empire so she can't hurt any more people. Making lots of little Tatsumis and Esdeaths to run around would be so annoying, but I'm sure Tatsumi would have taken one (or two) for the team.

Oh yes, Esdeath knows exactly how to hurt Tatsumi to make sure he's not hallucinating.



Smacked right in the chops! She seemed awfully happy at first when she thought Tatsumi had a pain fetish. Well, a true sadist wouldn't give a masochist the pain he wants anyway...

I figured that mark on Esdeath's chest was a sign of her Emperor's Tool, so it's nice to see some confirmation on that. Coming from a cold northern border village helped her affinity for the ice beast whose blood made up the Tool. And yes, it was a very good excuse to keep looking at her chest...

Tatsumi got to see a lot of Esdeath close up. Like some of her awesome ice-based attacks.



But mainly he got to see her up close because she wouldn't stop hugging him.



And she seems to really like talking to him while she straddles him.

I guess we know what their bedroom antics would look like in the future.

Let's be honest though. This deserted island development was just a great excuse for Esdeath fanservice.



Just pointing this out. Not complaining. Applauding, actually. We may not have much opportunity for more fun scenes of Esdeath Mai Mistress for a while.

Hmm.

Tatsumi has confirmed for himself that he can't convince Esdeath to come over to the rebel army's side. Listening to her past and how she got her Emperor's Tool let him know that she was this sadistic monster before she ever came to join the imperial military. That she felt the destructive urges of the danger beast in the Demon's Extract were weak says a lot about her own willpower and how strong her own destructive urges, blood lust, and killing intent are in comparison. She is the one who dominates, as she puts it.

Esdeath's father thought she lacked something, but it was unimportant in the harsh environment they lived in. I have a feeling it was that she did not have the nurturing nature of her mother to temper her need to be strong to survive. Her father blamed her mother for being weak and being killed by a danger beast. But being strong also means protecting the weak, in Tatsumi's eyes, so perhaps there is a story there of how the mother sacrificed herself to save a young Esdeath. If that is so, there still might be a sliver of hope of changing Esdeath's mind about the purpose of being strong. Not to survive, but to protect.

There's already some movement in that direction because of her feelings for Tatsumi. She's showing her strength to show off to him, not just to survive. That's being a little less self-centered, acknowledging that her actions are for the benefit of someone else, not just using that other person in service to herself. We'll have to see how serious Tatsumi is in opposing her the next time they meet.

I'll have to console myself with lack of Esdeath Mai Mistress with Leone Mai Waifu in a bikini next episode. How ever will I manage?
