Locodol - Episode 7
Friends and family watch the Nagarekawa Girls and Uogokoro-kun at the Civic Mascot Sports Day. The locodols get a new member. Visitors are already coming to Nagarekawa.
Heh.
This is a comedy show, so you know that watching the girls' national television appearance isn't going to be easy. Nanako spends too much time replying to texts to watch her Nanyako moment. Yui's family trips a circuit breaker from having too many appliances on. And Yukari has to attend to guests for a family affair and fell asleep trying to watch her recording.Somebody finally admitted that some of those mascots didn't look very weak. The yuru in ゆるキャラ (yurukyara) comes from 緩い (yurui) meaning loose (as in not stable), lenient or lax, gentle (as in a curve or slope), weak or slow, or soft (as in not firm). Yurukyara is just a promotional mascot meant to evoke a feeling of cuteness, with the mascot costume confirming its soft, weak, or slow nature. But that Tamahosshi putting other mascots in headlocks wasn't very slow, weak, or soft.
Nope, some of those mascots were not yurui at all when they showed up to the Sports Day.
Yui's little brother doesn't seem very bright, but I'll be charitable and say he's impressionable and doesn't quite comprehend the entirety of situations. So, no, Satoshi, your big sister is not turning into super sayan Uogkoro-kun to save the world.
Nanako doesn't have any of those excuses to think that Yui is leaving the group.
The mascot show was a success in the sense that Uogoro-kun is very busy with more appearances, which means the city has to hire another performer. Mirai had to fit a whole bunch of characteristics to play the role! Actually, she just needed to be as short as Yui and do backflips.
Yui's head-popping trick is teh awesome!
Aw. Nanako wants to be Mirai's best friend because they're both pettanko, but Mirai is super shy outside of the costume. That's similar to Yui having stage fright, but being okay as long as nobody looks directly at her, which is why working in a costume is great for her, as is her aspiration to be a voice actor.
The shock of seeing Yui outside of Uogokoro-kun, while someone obviously was in it, meant everybody needed to calm down a bit before they could find out what's going on.
Hmm.
On the broadcast, they showed one of the locodol groups releasing music and having a national debut. Is this a hint towards where the Nagarekawa Girls are moving? We've already got one Tokyo fan travelling all the way to Nagarekawa just to shake their hands. National fans and Uogokoro-kun merchandise can't keep up with demand? These are good problems to have.
I'll just leave this here:

They put the voice actors for Uogokoro-kun in the Nagarekawa Girls outfits, but didn't show the Nagarekawa Girls' voice actors in in those same outfits? I AM DISAPPOINT. Having them pop out of Uogokoro-kun would have been okay too.
