While we're waiting for the Halloween Festival, this cute girls do cute things story offers several vignettes, mainly related to Meme.

Meme's sleep boxing is similar to drunken boxing, but make no mistake, it is based on sleeping. From rolling around to feigning a leg cramp to block a kick, this is all about the deep sleep.

What's up with Tsugumi's sleepwear? "Sleeping Bust" on a T-Shirt? Is she hoping for a growth spurt while she sleeps?

Bringing the bats back at the end of the episode to be used as carrier bats to send a letter home for Meme was a fun callback.

Meme's Hangover bit where she retraced her steps hit all the right spots. To even shave one eyebrow off to lose a little bit of weight just shows the fugue state she normally walks around in.

One neat thing the episode did to show the progression of time was the girls growing pumpkins to make Jack o' Lanterns for Halloween.

Tsugumi suggests they sing to the plants to make them grow better. Anya's reaction is classic, "More wisdom of the commoners?" The singing develops into a whole dance number, of course.

Speaking of more things that commoners know, Tsugumi has to explain baseball to Anya and Meme. I guess Meme just forgot about baseball. Hitting a breaking ball with the tip of the bat is a new one on me. It was a Royal Spear Thrust...

Were lemurs a thing a couple of years ago? There was one featured in Eureka Seven AO, and here we have another one. At least they're friendly, just clinging on to whoever's close enough. I liked Kim's surprise that it wasn't just a strange hat.

Hmm.

With the cute girls doing their own cute things, Shaura must have been doing her own evil witch things. Clay and Akane discover that someone has been stealing Death City students' records, while the Gorgon's trail has run cold with no more random attacks. She must have been biding her time preparing for one hell of a Halloween Festival, choosing which students to control based on their abilities. Tsugumi has to choose a meister too, so we're headed to darker times for the next couple of episodes. I'm sure we'll see some nice Halloween costumes and party scenes before the witch makes her move. Then the cute girls will have to do some not-so-cute things.
