Ritsu meets a pervert, and Usa comes to her rescue. Usa gets scouted for a part-time job. Ritsu convinces him to take it.

Is there a uniform for perverts? Because how could two of them be dressed exactly the same?

Sumiko marveling at how bras these days can thwart train molesters made me laugh out loud. Sayaka didn't like being the butt of Mayumi's joke, though.

I'm confused. Wasn't Usa already playing Ritsu's crossing guard? Why would they make a point of waiting after school if he wasn't already? Besides, it looks like Ritsu is just realizing she may need a "crossing guard" in the bookstore.

Poor Usa, having to reassure a pervert because they may or may not have similar penis size. Worse, he had to say that in earshot of Mayumi!

Ritsu sure doesn't play fair. First, taking advantage of Usa's affection for her to be her escort after school. Then, after being embarrassed because she had to thank him for defending her against the flasher, she's got to get her licks in to vent her frustration for owing Usa.

Yeah, Usa. We know you'd come to Ritsu even if she was armed with a bokken, and you'd have to take the hit from crossing into the women's area of the boarding house. You may not be a masochist in general, but you are for Ritsu.

Although, maybe Usa is a weird kind of masochist, because he sure seems to attract "unique" characters to him. His old nickname in junior high was "Oddball Handler," because he seemed to be the only one with a enough patience to handle weirdo friends. No fresh start for Usa when he moved into the Kawai Boarding House. But that makes him perfectly suited for the part-time job at the Taisho Era themed cafe. If he can make Ritsu look at him like that with the period piece costume, of course he'll take the job.

Geh.

Mayumi is still mai waifu.

The story is really trying to pair Mayumi with Shiro, but she's having none of that. Shiro, fight-o!

Also, I may be starting to understand what Usa sees in Ritsu.

Ritsu bouncing along in short shorts is okay... I guess...

The way Usa described all of his oddball friends in junior high makes me think we're going to end up meeting all of them. They can't all be still as weird as they were back then, right? Right? Besides, he's got to contend with all the new "unique" staff he's going to meet at the cafe. Just how is Usa going to keep his energy up dealing with strange people during the day and night? Maybe he'll recharge just spending time with Ritsu? Such a simple creature, this Usa guy.
