Flat week. Some personal bests for the year were actually set this week, but we're talking about 1 - 3 seconds, which means nothing when you take into account road conditions. Flat week still means some climbing, because you need steep stuff for strength training. What's important here is that my little helper muscles in my butt and hips are sore, which means my form is actually recruiting those muscle groups again. I've also extended my range a little bit on the weekend ride. After many years, and lots of miles of trial and error, this is pretty much the flattest I can make this route to the Santa Fe Dam and back. When I used to work in Azusa, I was only a quarter mile away from the San Gabriel River path, and after work I could go there quickly, turn right for climbing, or left for flats. Still one of my favorite roads to ride my bike.
