10 Second Anime - Naruto Shippuuden - Episode 344

Naruto Shippuuden - Episode 344

Obito to Madara Shippuuden start! Their initial meeting wasn't very epic. We also see how bad off Madara left the Kages to join the Naruto party.

Even an undead version of Madara at less than full power is enough to take out the Kages. Fortunately Tsunade can still heal them, even when she's been split in half. Ouch.

With Madara showing up to scold Obito, we glean some details on how their plan went awry when Nagato betrayed the Akatsuki. See? Naruto's talk-no-jutsu really is his superpower. Nagato was supposed to fully revive Madara like he did the entire village of Konoha in his epic battle with Naruto. And Obito got impatient in recreating the 10-tailed beast with partial chakra from the 8 and 9 tails. Madara shrugs it off, though, accepting that Obito probably had his reasons. So confident. So magnanimous.

In the longer retelling of Obito's flashbacks, we learn that he survived the cave falling in by activating his teleportation technique, which he didn't know he had since he had just awakened his Sharingan hours before, and fell through the earth into Madara's lair. There, Madara had patched him up, but he had lost his right arm. Obito was still a card at this young age, humorously wondering if Madara is a death god, and bragging about how one of his mottos is helping old people. Madara smirks and wonders if he can help him out. We see that he is attached to a large flower made from the cells of the first Hokage Hashirama, which is keeping him alive, when he is supposed to have died generations ago. He's also using only one eye, a spare sharingan from his collection, because he's loaned out his original eyes. We'll get a nice reveal when we find out who had them.

The next few episodes will show how Obito healed up, and became the way he is now physically, and also why he joined Madara in his mad plot to put the entire world in a dream state. A lot of questions will be answered this season.
