Dating for 6 months, shacking up, and Shinka wants to see some scandalous action between Rikka and Yuuta. If there's no juicy bits, it's time to make some! And we meet the Ren in the title.

Shinka may be nosy, but she's also fiercely loyal to her friends and cares about them. And with no hint of lovey-dovey smoochy-smoochy between Rikka and Yuuta, she feels she has to help their relationship along. Dekomori doesn't want to hear about this stuff, though. She may have pledged her fealty to the Dark Flame Master because of his contract to her mistress, but she doesn't have to like it.

Of course, how normal a romantic relationship can one have between a chuunibyou and a recovering one? Yuuta is acting more like the parent these days, even disciplining Rikka for blowing her allowance on night vision goggles. That's a bad Evil Lord Death Eye!

It's not normal for couples to spank each other, right? Uh, wait. That might be something for an adult conversation... After Shinka, Kumin, and Dekomori spy on them as they go shopping (really, nosy much?), Shinka sees no spark at all. Of course, we know that's not the case, since they still blush around each other when they get a little too close, like when Yuuta started cleaning Rikka's blouse when she dropped a tomato on it. However expressing those feelings outwardly seems to be our couple's problem.

Oh, did I mention that Shinka's hair is back to normal, and so is her short skirt? No mention of the change, just there it is. Isshiki is also back to his buzz cut, but all we get out of him this week is a quick scene as Shinka drags Yuuta to her love expert. Here's Shinka's interrogation technique:

When did you guys start going out? Last Fall. When did you have your first big date? Christmas Eve. And you mean to tell me that you've gone through New Year's and Valentine's Day and you're still just holding hands?!! Intervention time! Shinka's resident love expert is Kazari, but she's got a conflict of interest, since she likes girls, and she really likes Rikka. Uh oh. Rival! Eh, she's just joking. But the first thing she does is take Yuuta's phone and text Rikka for a date. She's fast!

She tells Yuuta that girls like it when guys take the initiative, and her point is proven when Rikka texts back immediately accepting the mission, er, date. So, they go on a date to the aquarium, they get to hold hands, and they even talk about how to show their affection for each other. Rikka is actually self-aware of her syndrome, and how it puts a damper on normal relationships, but Yuuta says they'll go at their own pace. Besides, there's no such thing as a normal relationship anyway, only personal relationships, so whatever they do and however they act is entirely up to them.

Each of them are back in their comfort zones, which can only mean it's time introduce the chaos and drama for the season. Climbing down a rope from the apartment above, exactly like Rikka did last season, is the new girl. The Ren to our Koi. She is also chuunibyou sufferer. And she wants to show Rikka her powers! Hah, nice entrance.
