Naruto Shippuuden - Episode 332
Kage Shippuuden continues. Oh, and Sasuke Shippuuden too. The Earth Country has a will of stone, but the resurrected Madara is way overpowered with the first Hokage's cells grafted on to him.
I've said before that Naruto Shippuuden does filler right, and by filling out the battle of the Five Kages against Madara, they keep us Sasuke haters placated as the anime continues on that important side story with Kabuto and ending the Reanimation jutsu.
The Kages are all monsters in their own right, but to be battling an immortal Madara, with infinite chakra, suffused with the most powerful ninja's cells so he has all of Hashirama's abilities too, that's just too much of an ask. He's also sexist. Look, we already know he's evil, no need to pile it on. Well, we got a nice look of grrl power from the Mizukage after Tsunade's "stuff it, old man" speech.
I do like how they added the explanation of the will of stone, which is that any unremarkable stone has the same hardness, but like all the ninjas of the Hidden Stone Village, they must be polished. That's a little different philosophy than the Hidden Leaf Village where the will of fire is honed to protect the children who represent the future. That comes from the first Hokage's gentle, and almost childlike trust in his friends and his optimism. Hopefully the filler with the Kages vs. Madara will touch on the will of wind, water, and lightning too.
