Blood Lad - Episode 9

Vlad confronts the current King, who killed his father, the former King. Fuyumi and Bell are sisters! Kinda.

It turns out the Vlad, Liz, and Staz are former royalty, as their father was King. Apparently, succession works the same way for the nobles as it does the gang territories: kill the leader and you become the leader. All of Vlad's machinations with his brother and the Frankenstein monster were to one day declare war on the Werewolf King, and now he thinks he's ready. The King gives him three days to start the war. Generous.

Meanwhile, Knell brings Fuyumi to his family's mansion in the sky. Some huge dragon likes flying around there. They are greeted by a butler who looks exactly like Fuyumi's dad. Um, foreshadowing much?

The reason Mother Hydra wanted Fuyumi so much is because she is her daughter. Wha! It's the way doppelgangers work in this fantasy world. If you meet your doppelganger, you don't die, like the urban legend says, you merge. The events right after the merger will have to be told later, but this explains why Fuyumi's mother disappeared, and why there's a demon-butler who looks like her dad.

So, we know about Fuyumi's side of the family now, but why is there a portrait of that big dragon hanging in the hallway? Well, the Hydra family name appears to explain that...
